UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
EZRA L. ESTES, OF SHAWNEE, OKLAHOMA TERRITORY.
DESIGN FOR A RULE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 34,924, dated August 13, 1901. Application filed May 22, 1901. Serial No. 61,459. Term of patent 14 years. i
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, EZRA L. ESTES, a citizen of the United States, residing at Shawnee, in the county of Pot-tawatomie and Territory of Oklahoma, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Metal Rule, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to a design for a rule, and the essential features of the same reside in the design as illustrated in the accompanying drawings, wherein- Figure 1 in a perspective view of a rule embodying the features of the design. Fig. 2 is a transverse vertical section of the same.
The design is characterized by a body 1, having an intermediate longitudinally-extending flat member 2, with opposite side members 3, arranged at reverse oblique angles and of less length than the said member 2. The member2 is continued from one end of the rule and has opposite parallel side edges 4 and a rounded terminal 5, and the adjacent portions of the members 3 terminate in thin edges 6 at oblique angles to the member 2, the edges being at reverse angles to each other.
The flat member 2 is of the same width throughout its length, including the projected portion thereof beyond the terminals of the side members 3 at one end, and the angles of the edges 6 are oblique to the edges 4 or incline toward the rounded end 5.
Having thus described the invention, what is claimed as newis The design for a rule, herein shown and described.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as my own I have hereto affixed my signature in the presence of two Witnesses.
EZRA L. ESTES.
Witnesses:
