DESIGN FOR A CHAIN-LINK.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 30,362, dated March 21, 1899. Application filed February 20, 1899- Berisl No. 706,287. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that L'SYLVANUS D. LOCKE, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Hoosick Falls, in the county of Rensselaer and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Chain-Link, of which the following is aspecifieation, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.
The leading features of my design consist in a chain-link of a. general rectangular form, having one end bardeveloped into cylindrical form throughout the extreme width of the link and at the opposite end having one portion of the end bar developed into a form of an arc throughout the extreme width of the link and another portion of it having a width approximately corresponding to the opening between the side bars and turned over in gurved form from the inner edge of the end In the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 represents a plan view of a link, and Fig. 2 represents an edge view of the same.
A A represent the side bars of the link. B represents one end bar curved into cylindrical form throughout the entire width of the link, and B B represent parts of the opposite end her, the former curved into arc shape and having a length equal to the extreme width of the link and the latter B having a length approximately equal to the width of the space between the side bars of the link and curved over in rounded form from the inner edge of the end bar toward the portion B.
What I claim is- The design for a chain-link, substantially as herein shown and described.
