DESIGN FOR AN ELECTRIC-LIGHT SIGN.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 34,848, dated July 23, 1901.
Application filed June 28,1901. Serial No. 66.432. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom, if may concern:
Be it known that I, MORTIMER NORDEN, a citizen of the United States, residing at the borough of Man hattan,in the city, county, and State of New York, have invented and prod need a new and original Design for an Electric-Light Sign, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part thereof.
My design relates to an electric-light sign wherein numerals may be visually shown by electric illumination.
In the drawings, Figure 1 is an elevation illustrating my design, and Fig. 2 is a cross section taken on the line a: as of Fig. 1.
As shown in the drawings, the leading or material features of my design consist of the shape or configuration of a series of vertical and inclined parallel ribs or partitions, and transverse or crossing ribs or partitions, all rising from a backing a and between which are formed the compartments h, c, d, e,f, g,
h, i, j, 7;, Z, m, and n. \Vithin these compartments are rows of circular fig-u resin plan, representing electric lamps and bases 0, (shown in elevation, Fig. 2,) the spaces 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and '7 being left plain, as shown.
The general configuration of my design is that of a double polygon with vertical compartments j m and diagonal compartments 7.: n.
