UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
HENRY KALB, OF ROCHESTER, NEW YORK.
DESIGN FOR A FRAME FOR MOTOR-CYCLES.
SPECIFICATION forming part Of Design N0. 34,112, dated February 19, 1901.
Application filed January 21, 1901. Serial No- 44,223. Term of patent 14 years.
To a w/wm/ it may omwer-n:
Be it known that I, HENRY KALB, a citizen of the United States, residing at Rochester, in the county of Monroe and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Frame for Motor-Cycles, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.
In the drawings, Figure 1 is a perspective view of a cycle-frame constructed according to my design, and Fig. 2 is a side elevation thereof.
My design relates particularly to the shape or outline of a frame for motor-cycles and particularly of the rear portion thereof.
The design embodies a frame having the upper and lower members 1 and 2 diverging from a head 3, having their ends joined by the seat-post 4, at the lower end of which is the crank-hanger 5. Extending downwardly and rearwardly from the upper end of the seat-post are rear fork members 6 and 7, the latter being located between the former and the seat-post and the forward portions of each being curved at 6 7 and joined by braces 8 and 9. A brace 10 also connects the seat-post 4 with the forks 7. The lower forks 11 extend rearwardly and downwardly in line with the tube 2 to a point 12, from whence they curve rearwardly at 13 and are joined to the ends of the inner forks 7 and thence at an angle to their former direction to the ends of the forks 6. The lower fork members also curve laterally at 13 and are joined by a brace 15.
I claim The design for a frame for motor-cycles substantially as shown and described.
HENRY KALB. Witnesses:
G. WILLARD RIcH, WALTER B. PAYNE.
