ANTONIO O. PESSANO, OF PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA, ASSIGNOR TO THE GEORGE V. CRESSON COMPANY, OF SAME PLACE.
DESiGN FOR A JOURNAL-BOX.
SPECIFICATION forming part Of Design No. 32,588, dated April 24:, 1900.
Application filed March 19, 1900. Serial No. 9,335. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom. it may concern."
Be it known that I, ANTONIO C. PESSANO, of the city and county of Philadelphia, in the State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and original Design for Journal- Boxes, of which the following is a specification.
My design for j on rnal-boxes is shown in the accompanying drawings, in which Figure 1 is a plan view of a journal-box embodying the design. Fig. 2 isaside elevation of the same, and Fig. 3 is an end view.
The journal-box consists of an approximately-cylindrical hollow box having a. longitndinal cylindrical opening E extending from end to end.
A is the lower half of the box, and B F the upper portion. The lower portion A tapers toward the ends and at one end has a. slightlyenlarged transverse ridge h. The upper portion B F terminates at the edges in flanges I), which extend along the upper edge of the lower portion A. The part B of the upper portion is of slightly-smaller diameter than the part A and has two transverse ridges C C, formed with central bosses c, and a central recessed boss (Z between the ridges C C. The end part F of the upper portion has at its end a somewhat-enlarged transverse rib f, which forms a continuation of ridge h of the lower portion A. The lower portion A has at the middle of the upper edge on each side a lug or projection a.
The essential fenturesof the design consist of the approximntely-cylindrical hollow box having the lower portion A tapering toward the ends, and having the ridge 7:, adjacent to one end, and the upper portion 1) F, formed with the transverse ridges O O and f.
What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is as follows:
The design for a journal-box substantially as described and as shown in the accompanying drawings.
In testimony of which invention l have hereunto set my hand.
