DESIGN FOR A DRAFT-PLATE FOR CARS.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 32,545, dated April 17', 1900.
Application filed March 21, 1900. Serial No. 9,613. Term of patent 31 years.
To a'ZZ whom it may concern.-
Be it known that we, CHARLES W. COLLER and JOHN S. NAERY, citizens of the United States, residing at Lafayette, in the county of Tippecanoe and State of Indiana, haveinvented and produced a new and original Design for a Draft-Plate for Cars, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part thereof.
Referring to the accompanying drawings, Figure l is a plan view showing our new and original design for draft-plates. Fig. 2 is a rear elevation of the same. Fig. 3 is a front elevation of the same. Fig. 4 is an end view looking in the direction of the arrow 4, Fig. 1; and Fig. 5 is an end View looking in the direction of the arrow 5, Fig. 1.
The essential features of on r new and original design comprise a plate having a projection at one end extending to the rear and a projection at the other end extending to the front, an opening near the longitudinal Fenter, and a recessed projection on the front :ace.
f l l Thus referring to the drawings, A represents the plate, at one end of which there is a projection B, extending toward the rear, and at the other side there is a projection 0, extending toward the front, which projection has a curved recess 0' near its center. The plate also has on its rear side projecting knobs D D near one end. Centrally of the plate there is an opening E with a projecting flange E at the rear. Extending from the projection C toward the opposite end of the plate are tapering flanges F, and near one end is the hollow curved projection G.
What we claim is The new and original design for a draftplate for cars, substantially as shown and described.
