DESIGN FOR A FOOT-PLATE FOR CARS.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 32,544, dated April 17, 1900. Application filed March 21, 1900. Serial No. 9,612- Term of patent 3% years T0 on whom it may concern:
Be it known that we, CHARLES W. Counts and JOHN S. NAERY, citizens of the United States, residing at Lafayette, in the county of Tippecanoe and State of Indiana, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Foot-Plate for Cars, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part thereof Referring-to the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a plan View showing our new and original design for foot-plates for cars. Fig. 2 is a front elevation. Fig. 3 is a sectional plan view on the line 3 3, Fig. 2, looking in the direction of the arrow; and Fig. 4 is a transverse sectional view on the line 4 4, Fig. 2.
The essential feature of our new and original design for foot-plates comprises two members arranged substantially parallel to each other, one member of which is provided with bosses near its ends, while the other member has inturned flanges bearing against the rear face of the first member and has open spaces between the ends.
Referring to the drawings, A and B are the two members, substantially parallel to each other. The member A has near each end a projecting boss a a, with tapering ribs a ex tending from the sides of the bosses. The other member B has intnrned flanges b b b on three of its sides, projecting toward and bearing against the rear face of the member A. There are open spaces B 15 with an extending tongue or flanged portion 11 near the longitudinal center of this member.
What we claim is- The newand original design fora foot-plate for cars,substan tially as shown and described.
