Description

DESIGN.
J. BANWELL.
CASING FOR CATCH BASINS.
Patented July 16, I901.
INVEN TUE.
EY,7%7%ATTY UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
JAMES BANWELL, OF CLEVELAND, OHIO, ASSIGNOR OF TWO-THIRDS TO 0. W. NOKES AND GEORGE OAUNTER, OF SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR A CASING FOR CATCH- BAS|NS.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design NO. 34,798, dated July 16, 1901.
Application filed June 17, 1901. Serial No. 64,960. Term of patent 14 years.
T0 on whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, J AMES BANWELL, a citizen of the United States, residing at Oleveland, in the county of Cuyahoga and State of Ohio, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Oasin gs for Catch-Basins, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part thereof.
In the said drawings, Figure 1 is a plan view of a casing fashioned after the manner of my new design. Fig. 2 is a side elevation thereof, and Fig. 3 is a front elevation.
As thus illustrated, the leading and material feature of my design consists in the shape thereof, in which certain features are more or less prominent and distinguishing, especially the rounded retreating back A, offset at its bottom by a flat flange B all around, except at the front, and asubstantially semicircular collar 0 about its front and top'and an open front with parallel vertical side walls D. As compared with the greatest width of the back A the front between the walls D is narrowed or contracted somewhat and collar C'runs back well toward the middle of the design when viewed in plan or side elevation; but the chief and leading feature of the design is its peculiarly shaped back, which curves in a shapely Way to its sides and rear, with the longer lines of curvature to the rearward and starting at about the collar 0.
What I claim is- The design for a catch-basin casing, substantially as shown and described.
Witness my hand to the foregoing specification this 13th day of June, 1901.
JAMES BANWELL.
