DESIGN FoR A PIcK-ou'ARo.
SPECIFICATION formng part of Design No. 32,245, dated February 20, 1900 Application filed November 8, 1899. Serial No. 736,2 83. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom, it may concern:
Be it known that I, CHARLES A. NIGHT- INGLE, a oitizen of the United States, residing at Evansville, in the County of Vanderbnrg and State of Indiana,y have invented and prodnoed a new and original Design for a Pick-Guard for Mandolins, Gnitars, and Like Stringed Instruments; of which the following is a specifioaton, reference being had to the accompan yin g drawing, forming part thereof, which is a perspeotive view of a pick-gnard fashioned after my design.
The pick-guard has the appearanoe of a lyre in general ontline, the arms a and b ourving outwardly and npwardly in opposite directions from the body c and corresponding in contonr with each other. Their ontlines are regular and the arms taper gradnally and regularly from the body to their ends, where they terminate in oppositely-facing riinded extremities d. i 4
Two wings e and f of similar Contour eX- tend in opposite directions from the median line or axis of the guard, where they meet in a downwardly-projecting point g. The lower outlines of the wings are oompound ourves; the side ontlines are entrant ourves, and the npper outlines Where theyjoin the body c are sharp enrves.
