JOHN ll. GAVIN, OF CHICAGO, ILLINOIS, ASSIGNOR TO THE L. WOLFF MANUFACTURING COMPANY, OF SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR A BRACKET.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 23,873, dated December 11, 1894.
Application filed November 5,1894. Serial No. 527,977. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JOHN H. GAVIN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois,
5 have invented a new and original Design for a Bracket, of which the following is a specification.
The leading feature of my design consists in the general shape and outline of the bracket as a whole, comprising in connection with the two right angle arm portions of the bracket an intermediate brace portion consisting of two equal and similar semi-elliptical curves tangentially touching each other, the two extremities or limbs of each of said curves each terminating in a spiral or scroll-shape curve tangentially touching the adjacent arm of the bracket, and each of the semi-elliptical curved portionshaving further reverse curved branches terminating in spiral or scrollshaped curves tangentially touching the adjacent arm of the bracket.
In the accompanying drawing, forming part of this specification, I have illustrated 2 5 in perspective view a bracket showing my design.
In the drawing A A are the two right angle arm portions of the bracket; 13 B, the two semielliptical curves of the brace portion of the bracket, said curves touching each other tangentially at Z), and having at each extremity spiral or soroll-shaped curves B B tangentially touching the adjacent arms A Aof thebracket. Eachofthesemi-ellipticalcurved braces B B has also a reverse curve branch 3 5 B terminating in a spiral or scroll B tangentially touching the adjacent arm of the bracket, as illustrated in the drawing, and the curved branch B forms acontinuous ogee curve with the part B. Each of the brace arms A has also an interior marginal portion a a in the plane of the curved brace portion B B, as indicated in the drawing.
I claim- The design for a bracket herein shown and 5 described.
JOHN H. GAVIN.
