DESIGN FOR A CORNICE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 21,623, dated June 21, 1892.
Application filed February 13, 1892. Serial No. 421,489- Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that 1, AUGUST CARLEWITZ, a citizen of the United States, residing at the city of Newark, in the county of Essex and State of New Jersey, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Cornice to be Used in the Angle Formed by the \Vall andCeiling of a Room, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, showinga part thereof.
The drawings show one section of the entire cornice, the opposite ends being designed to match, the completed cornice being made up of such sections.
Figure 1 is a front elevation of the cornice, showing my design complete. Fig. 2 is a cross-section through the lineaaof the same.
The prominentfeatureot my design is comprised in the large central leaf of conventional form, from which branches out on each side stems having bracts and terminating in flow ers and buds, the Whole eonsistingof a raised figured surface, the outlines of which, when viewed in elevation,as in Fig. l,will lie principally within the cove of the cornice, the large central leaf, however, extending over the upper and lower beads thereof.
A is the cove of the cornice, which is concave in form, as shown in section in Fig. 2.
l3 and O are respectively the upper and lower beads or moldings.
The central feature of the design consists of the large conventional leaf D, with branches F and G projecting from each side thereof along the cove.
\Vhat I claim is- The design for a cornice, herein shown and described.
