DESIGN FOR A CORNICE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 21,624, dated June 21, 1892.
Application filed May 5, 1892. Serial No. 431,962- Term of patent '7 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, AuuUsT Ltunncwrrz, a citizen of the United States, residing at the city of Newark, in the county of Essex and State of New Jersey, have invented and pro duced a newand original Design fora Cornice to be Made in the Angle Formed by the \\"all and Ceiling of a Room, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, showing apart thereof.
The drawings show one section of the entire cornice, the completed cornice being made up of such sections.
Figure l is a front elevation of theeornicc, showing my design. Fig. 2 is a cross-section through the line (I (L of the same.
The prominent feature of my design consists in a raised figured surface, the outlines of whieh,\\'hen viewed in elevntiomas in Fig. 1, will lie prim-ipall within the cove oi the cornice, but also slightly extending over the upper and lower beads thereof.

The central [catureot the design consists of the two large gracefully-disposcd leaves I') I),which are raised within the limits of the cove of the cornice. Branching from the stem of the leaves I) is a flower E, also within the cove, and a tcndril F, carrying seed-pods and buds, which extend over the upper and lower moldings.
lvhat I claim is- The design for a cornice, herein shown and described, the same comprising the upper and lower plain moldings ll and the intervening plain cove A, in which is the figure of raised leaves and llowors, and seed-pods extending over the moldings ll and t, substantially as set forth.
