UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
EUGENE \VARD, OE NEWARK, NEW JERSEY.
DESIGN FOR A BRlDLE-FRONT.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No.1'L122, dated February 15, 1887.
Application filed January 4, 1887. Serial No. 223,405. Term of patent 3Q years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, EUGENE WARD, a citizen of the United States, residing at Newark, in the county of Essex and State of New Jersey, have invented and produced a. new and original Design for Bridle-Fronts; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, ref erence being had to the accompanying drawings, and to letters of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.
Figure 1 represents a plan view of my design; Fig. 2, a section through line X, Fig. l; and Fig. 3 represents a side elevation, and Fi g. 4 asection through line Y, Fig. 1, which views are deemed suificient to fully illustrate my design.
This design is especially intended as a trinr ming or mounting for brow-bands or bridlefronts; and it consists of a series of alternate ridges and depressions, as A C, and flanked on each side by a border, as D.
In the drawings, B represents an ordinary brow-band or bridle-front, and E a mounting or trimming having aseries of alternate ridges,
as A, and depressions, as G, and depressions F, the latter extending across the ridges and longitudinally of the brow-band,whicli is more clearly illustrated when viewed in cross-section, as in Fig. 2. The ridges A and depressions C extend across the said brow-hand, and are flanked on either side by a border, as D.
The leading features of my design consist in the series of alternate ridges and depressions and the longitudinal depression, which to the eye give a very pleasing client.
I therefore claim- The design for a brow-band or bridle-front herein shown, the same consisting of a series of alternate ridges and depressions, as A C, extending across thesame, and flanked on each side by a border, as D, and a depression. as F, extending across said ridges and l0ngitudinally of said hrow-band, as set forth.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing I have hereunto set my hand this 29th day of December, 1886.
EUGENE \VARD.
