DESIGN FOR SKIRT-BINDING.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 31,024, dated June 13, 1899. Application filed April 19, 1899. Serial No. 719 693. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, EUGENE J. MCOARTY, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Clinton, in the county of Worcester and Commonwealth of Massachusetts, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Skirt-Binding, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.
The leading feature of my design consists in a durable skirt-binding presenting a head having a brush on the upper and lower edges thereof, the face view having the fabric raised and cut, representinga velvet surface.
Figure 1 represents a face view of a piece of skirt-binding embodying my design. Fig. 2 is a view in rear elevation. Fig. 3 represents a sectional view.
In the drawings, A designates a piece of skirt-binding consisting of head B, with the brushes 0 on the upper and lower edges thereof. 0n the face view of the head the fabric D is raised, as by jacquard, and cut, giving a velvet surface thereof. The rear elevation of head presents a plain weave E. The sectional view presents the fabric D joined to the weave E by threads F.
Having described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-- The design for a skirt-bindingsubstantiall y as shown and described.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as my invention I have signed my name, in presence of two witnesses, this 8th day of April, A. D. 1899.
EUGENE J. MCCARTY.
