DESIGN FOR CARPET.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 25,907, dated August 4, 1896.
Application filed June 15I 189B. Serial No. 595,689. Term of patent Si years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, FEEDRIC M. PARKER, acitizen of the United States, residing at Worcester, in the county of Worcester and State of Massachusetts, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Carpets, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to a design to be worked into or upon carpeting or similar fabrics, and I do hereby declare that the drawing accompanying this specification gives and conveys to any one skilled in the art of carpet-weaving a clear understanding of the same that is sufficient to enable such persons to use my invention.
The said drawing is a face view of a carpet embodying my new design.
The drawing illustrates a body and a border.
The body A consists of a substantially uniform groundwork, upon which appear small figures of a quatrefoil shape set diagonally as to each other. Each of these iigures consists of an ornamental center, surrounded on each of its four sides by curving shapes. Around these iignres are arranged small scrolls in such a manner as to appear evenly distributed over the pattern.
The border B consists of a ground and figure work substantially the same as in the body. The outer edge is characterized by two larger scrolls, between which are set small crown-shaped figures.
The colors employed for the different portions of this design may be varied to suit the convenience or taste of the manufacturer.
'What I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
1. In a design for carpeting, the body A, substantially as shown.
2. In a design for carpeting, the border B, substantially as shown.
3. The design for carpets, consisting of the body A and the border B, substantially as shown.
FREDRIC M. PARKER.
