DESIGN FOR CARPET.
SPECIFICATION forming part. of Design No. 24,305, dated May 14, 1895. Application filed April 5, 1895. Serial No. 544,676. Term of patent 3% years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, FREDRIC M. PARKER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Worcester, in the county of Worcester and State of Massachusetts, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Carpets, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to a design to be Worked into or upon carpeting or similar fabrics, and I do hereby declare that the drawing accompanying this specification gives and conveys to any person skilled in the art of car pet weaving a sufficiently clear understanding of the same to enable such person to use my invention.
The drawing is a face bodying my new design.
The drawingillustrates a bodyand a border.
The body A is characterized by festoons of conventionalized lace, small floral figures which rest upon or appear to cross behind the festoons, and larger detached floral figures arranged between the branches of the festoons.
View of a carpet em- The border 13 is characterized by somewhat narrower lace festoons than those in the body, and by floral figures which conform to those employed in the body.
The colors employed for the different portions of this design may be varied to suit the taste and convenience of the manufacturer.
That I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States, is
1. In a design for carpeting, the body A, substantially as shown.
2. In a design for carpeting, the border B, substantially as shown.
3. The design for carpets consisting of the body A and the border B, substantially as shown.
