To all whom it may concern:
30 it known that I, Jixcon B. CAMPBELL, a citizen of theUuitcd States, residing at Yonkers, in the county of \Vestehester and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Carpets.
My invention relates to a design to be worked into or upon carpeting or similar fabrics; and I do hereby declare that the drawing accompanying this specification gives and conveys to any one skilled in the art of carpet-weaving a clear understanding of the same that is suflicicnt to enable such persons to use my invention.
The said drawing is a face view of a carpet embodying my new design. The drawing illustrates a body and a border.
The body A consists of a substantially uniform groundwork, upon which appear disconnected sprigs of leaves arranged so as to form a wreath shape and inelosing a small floral ligure having pointed petals. These wreaths are all alike and are arranged diagonally as to each other. Between the wreaths appears a small diaper-work formed by short curved lines.
The border B consists of asubstantiall y uniform groundwork, upon which appear festoons or hanging wreaths of small leaves and flowers of a daisy shape. Below these appear sprigs of leaves conforming to those in the body, but having a general vertiealdireetiou. Above the fcstoons appear sprigs of flowers and leaves similar to those forming the festoons. The outer edge is characterized by the same diaper-work as appears in the body, and the inner edge is defined by a little of the same work. The extreme outer edge is left perfectly plain.
The colors employed for the different portions of this design may be varied to suit the convenience or taste of the immufaeturer.
