DESIGN FOR CARPET.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 25,220, dated March 3, 1896.
Application filed January 31, 1896. Serial No. 577,623.

To all whom it may concur-1r.-
Be it known that I, JACOB l CAMPBELL, a citizen of the United States, residing atYonkers, in the county of \Vestchester and State of New York, have invented and prod need a new and original Design for Carpets, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to a design to be worked into or upon carpeting or similar fabrics; and I do hereby declare that the drawing accompanying this SllGUlllGEtlilOll gives and conveys to any one skilled in the art of earpet-weaving a clear underslandin g of the same that is sufficient to enable such person to use my invention.
The said drawing is a face embodying my new design.
The drawing illustrates a body and a border.
The body A consists of a substantially uni form groundwork, on which are arrange groups of flowers resembling pansies with leaves and roots, substantially as shown.
The border 13 consists of a substantially uniform groundwork, upon which appears a group of the same kind of flowers and leaves as appear in the body A. The outer margin consists of an irregularlyarranged series of flowers resembling those in the body A, but larger.
The colors employed for the dilfercnt portions of this design may be varied to suit the convenience or taste of the manufacturer.
\Vhat I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
1. In a design for carpeting, the body A, substantially as shown.
2. In a design. for carpeting, the border ll, substantially as shown.
3. The design for carpets, consisting oi the body A and the border B, substantially as shown.
