SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 25,225, dated March 3, 1896.
Application filed December I6, 1895. Serial No. 572,374. Term of patent 3i years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JACOB B. CAMPBELL, a citizen of the United States, residing at Yonkers, in the county of Westchester and State of 5 New York, have invented and produced anew and original Design for Carpets, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to a design to be worked into or upon carpeting or other similar :o fabric; and I do hereby declare that the drawing aeeoinpanyingthis specification gives and conveys to any one skilled in the art of carpetweaving a clear understanding of the same that is sufeient to enable sueh person to use my invention.
The said drawing is a face view of a carpet embodying my design.
The drawing illustrates a body)T and a border.
The body A consists of a substantially uniforni groundwork upon which appear flowers resembling daisies having long interlaeing stems with a few leaves growing from them. These are all arranged in an apparently eareless manner.
2 5 The border B consists of a substantially uniform groundwork upon which appear figures conforming in character to those in the body A. The inner margin is defined by a straight band finished at the top with a sealloped ed ge and broken at regular intervals bya small set o figure. The outer margin is characterized by bands having an irregular or zigzag outline, upon which appear at intervals small sprigs of leaves.
The colors employed for the different portions of this design may be varied to snit the convenience or taste of the manufacturer.
