DESIGN FOR A STOVE.
To all whont it may concern.-
Be itknown that I, GEORGE W. KoHLMErz, a citizen of the United States, residing at Cleveland, in the county of Cuyahoga and State of Ohio, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Cooking Stove or Range, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming part thereof.
The drawing shows a perspective elevation of my new design in a cooking stove or range, and the leading feature of the design consists in the new and original ornamental borderwork displayed on the several doors. This border or decorative outline a is common to all the several doors A, B, O, I), E, and F and is the distinguishing feature of each, not in the fact of the border itself as such, because borders on stove-doors are not new, but on account of the new and original style of border, the same having a depressed or cameo scroll or figured ornamentation cin its surface and the polished or otherwise highly-finished surface up to the edges of the scrolls or figures. In other words, a smooth surfaced border having fanciful ornamentation wholly below the level of its surface, as shown, and displaying a dull or dead surface.
The second feature of the design relates to the name-plate G, which is of oval pattern and has a finely-hatched center 9 for the name and a depressed figured border g in the same plane with the said hatched surface relatively to the surrounding and higher outside brightened or lustrous surface of the said plate.
The third feature of the design relates to the stove'doors having their borders a ornamented in cameo or depressed figured work r, as above described, and their central panel (I finished with decorations d in relief, so that said figured work stands out upon the otherwise plain surface of the panel.
The fourth feature of the design comprises the stove as a whole, embodying the several distinctive and special features of design, as hereinbefore described.
What I claim is The design for a stove, substantially as herein shown and described.
\Vitness my hand to the foregoing specification this 17th day of April, 1899.
GEORGE W. KOHLMETZ.
