M g m VN TOH ATTORNEY p WITNESSES:
m: Nonms PETERS co, FHOTOLITNCL. WASH UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
JOSIAH B. GATHRIGI-IT, OF LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY.
DESIGN FOR A TRACE-CARRIER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 31 ,004, dated June 13, 1899.
Application filed May 15, 1899. Serial No. 716,964 Term of patent 1d years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JOSIAH B. GATHRIGH'I, a citizen of the-United States, residing at Louisville, in the county of Jefferson and State of Kentucky, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Trace- Carriers; and I do declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.
In the drawings, Figure 1 is a plan view of a trace-carrier, showing my new design. Fig.
2 is a section taken on the line a: 00 of Fig. 1. Fig. 3 is a section taken on the line y y of Fig. 1.
As shown in the drawings, the leading or material features of the design consist of a base-plate A, having a wide upper part 1 and a relatively narrow lower part 2, arranged centrally beneath said part 1 and of equal depth therewith, the ends of each part being shaped to form complements of the ends of the other parts, so that when two plates are placed in reverse position they will fit together, the wider part of one conforming to the narrower part of the other, abarB, struck from the wider part of the base and with its longitudinal edges arranged above the plane thereof, and a hook O, struck out from the center of the lower part 2 and having a wider base 0 than point 0, said hook being bent to have its free end or point 0 depending over the wide part of the opening D, from which the hook was struck and in substantially the same plane with the surface of the base-plate.
Having thus described my invention, What I believe to be new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The design for a trace-carrier, substantially as herein described and shown.
JOSIAH B. GATHRIGHT. Witnesses:
E. S. FooTE, W. O. ROBERTSON.
