SHEPHERD DAVIS, OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA.
DESIGN FOR AN OIL-CAN.
SPECIFICATION forming part Of Design No. 30,879, dated May 30, 1899.
Application filed March 9, 1899. Serial No. 708,448. Term of patent 14 years.

Ee it known that I, SHEPHERD DAVIS, a citizen of the United States, residing at South Bend, county of St. Joseph, State of Indiana, have invented and produced a new and original Design for ()iHJans, of which the following is a description, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part of this application, in which Figure l is a perspective view of an oil-can, showing my new design therefor; and Fig. 2 is a top plan view of the same.
As shown in the drawings, my design for an oil-can is cylindrical in outline, the sides and top being unbroken, except asindicated. Extending from the upper and lower edges of the can at opposite points are arms or brackets c, in the outer ends of which is supported vertically a glass tube (2, which is surrounded by vertical wires (1', which are also secured in 20 said brackets. On the side of the can adjacent to the tube dare lines indicating a graduated scale, as e.
The essential features of my design are the tube, the vertical wires surrounding said tube, the supporting-brackets, and the graduated scale indicated on the can.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for an oil-can, substantially as herein shown and described.
