To all whom it may canoe/'11:
Ile it known that I, THOMAS I. GREGER, a citizen of the United States, residing at the city of Philadelphia, in the county of Philadelphia and State of Pennsylvania, have invented and prod need a new and original Design for a lllanhole-Cover, of which the following is a specification, reference beiughad to the accompanying drawings, forming part thereof, in whieh- Figure l is a top or plan View of a manhole cover, showing the particular shape or contiguration of the cover of my said design; and Fig. 2 is a vertical sectional view on the line :r a: of Fig. 1 of the drawings, these two views being deemed essential to a proper disclosure and illustration of my design for amanholecover.
As illustrated in the drawings, the leading feature of my design consists of. the cover A, substantially dish shaped in cross section with the base 11 upwardly or eon vcxly bent inward. This base ll is surrounded by the rim l), the top surface of which is provided with the concentric indentations or grooves d and surrounding inner lodged, as (clearly illustrated in Fig. 2 of the drawings. At two points of i the rim I), diametrically opposite to each other, are arranged the inwardly-projecting ornaments E, having; within the same the I- shaped heads F of the liftbases G, the stems f of which extend through the rim I) and below the bases ll and are inwardly bent, as at f, at l'lLlit angles to the stems. At the outer i side of the heads I and in the rim I) are formed l the recesses ll, extending in the rim 1) below the heads F, as clearly shown in Fig. L of the draw i ngs.
