The body of the cup is bell-shaped, with an upper edge or brim having a plain circular periphery A. A short distance below this edge are a series of vertical indentations or furrows B,runningdown to the base C. There are four indentations in each set and four sets around the cup, thus giving the surface of the cup a wave-like appearance in section, as shown in Fig. 3, with three small waves and one large wave alternated.
The base C of the cup is quadriseeted by four indentations l) in its lower edge, and on either side of the cup, just above this base, is an ornan'ientation, which consists of a central panel E, of three vertical divisions bordered on either side by a C-shapcd arabesque 1*, with a stem bearing leafed and floral ornaments G extending from the upper part of the C. An ornament consisting of a central panel with a C-shaped arabesqne on either side II is located on the remaining two sides just above the base.
The handle I projects from the side of the cup at the bulged portion thereof and is made to resemblea number of lilyleaves bound together and secured at the upper end to a curled knob J, projecting from the upper part of the cup.
