(Application filed Oct. 25, 1901.)
Fig.2
WIT EESEE UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
CHARLES A BENNETT, OF TAUNTON, MASSACHUSETTS.
DESIGN FOR A HANDLE FOR SPOONS, FORKS, 0R SIMILAR ARTlCLES.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 35,555, dated January 7, 1902. Application filed October 25, 1901. Serial No. 79,965. Term of patent 14 years.
T0 to whom it may concern:
Be it known that 1, CHARLES A. BENNETT, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Taunton, in the county of Bristol and State of Massachusetts, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Handle for Spoons, Forks, or Similar Articles, of
bowl extends to the edge of the handle and gives the same its outline at this point. Upon the handle, immediately above the blossom ornament b, the figure c isproduced in relief. The figure 0 consists of a group of leaves or petals which overlie each other and which have wavy forms and outlines such as are characteristic of the petals of the fieur-de-lis. The flower figure c is drawn in at the base where it adjoins the figure b, so that at the point of junction the width of the handle is constricted, the figures swelling out, downwardly, and upwardly. The petals of the figure 0 are slightly separated at their upper ends or points, and springing from what appears to be the space inclosed by the clustering petals 0 there rises the spray of small radiate flowers d, which, with their attendant leaves, terminate at about the point marked a on the handle.
What I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for the handle of spoons, forks, 40
and similar articles, substantially as shown and described.
Signed by me at Taunton this 23d day of October, 1901.
CHARLES A. BENNETT.
