As shown in the drawing, the leading feature of my design consists in the backbone A, representing a flat spring-bar slightly arched and having its rear end coiled in the form of an eye a, the seat-post B representing a flat spring-bar having its lower end attached to the shaft-hanger O and its upper end to the bottom of the backbone, the front reach D representing a flat spring-bar bent in ogee form and uniting the shaft-hanger O to the front sleeve of the steering-rod. An arched spring-brace E in the form of a flat bar has one end secured to the front reach and the other end to a holder e, mounted upon the seat-post, and an arched spring-brace F, hav ing one end secured to the holder 6 and the opposite end to the eye a of the backbone A. The frame has also two braces in the form of fiat bars G and H, the bar G uniting the front half of the backbone to the bottom of the sleeve of the steering-rod and the bar I-I uniting said front half of the backbone to the seatpost.
