DESIGN FOR A BICYCLE-FRAME.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 27,308, dated July 6, 1897. Application fil d August 13, 1896. Serial No. 602,674. Tenn of patent 7 years.
T0 at whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, Enxnsr WHITwoR'rH, a citizen of the United States,residin g at Lowell, in the county of Middlesex and State of Massachusetts, have invented and produced a new and original Design in Bicycle-Frames, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, which discloses in perspective a bicycle-frame embodying my design.
The numeral 1 designates the lower-line tube, 2 the upper-line tube, and 3 the steering-head, of a bicycle-frame. Back braces are shown at 4 and 5, and [3 and 7 represent the members of the lower rear fork.
The king-post or tube is shown at 8. The lower-portion of the post is formed intoa truss 9, comprising two members which extend downwardly and then are curved forwardly until they meetthe crank-bracket 10. At 11 and 12 are shown curved braces which extend upwardly from the members 6 and 7 of the lower rear fork and connected to the members of the truss 9.
The leading feature of my design consists of the curved truss f) and the curved braces 11 and 12.
Vhat I claim is- The design for a bicycle-frame, substantially as herein shown and described.
