DESIGN FOR A FRAME FOR MOTOR-CYCLES.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 33,598, dated. November 20, 1900.
Application filed October 25 1900. Serial No 34394. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, GEORGE M. IIOLLEY, a
itizen of the United States, residing at Bradford, in the county of McKean and State of Pennsylvania, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Frames for Motor-Cycles, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming a part thereof.
This design relates to the configuration of a frame for motorcycles.
The accompanying drawing is a perspective view of a frame for motor-cycles embodying my design.
The leading feature of my design consists of the peculiar form of the hanger which connects the lower front bar and the lower rear fork of a diamond-shaped cycle-frame and the peculiar form of the upright brace which connects the hanger with the adjacent ends of of the upper front bar and the upper rear fork.
As shown in the drawing, A represents the upright steering-head; B B, the upper and lower front bars, which diverge rearwardly from the steering-head; C C, the upper and lower rear forks, which are connected at their rear ends and divorce forwardly; I), the seatcluster, which connects the inner ends of the upper bar and the upper fork; E, the comparatively large cylindrical case of the crankhanger, which is connected on its front and rear sides with the inner ends of the front bar and lower fork: F, the upright bracc, which is bifurcated and has a single upper barf connected with the seat'cluster and two separated lower barsf' 1" connected with the upper side of the case E; G, a large nipple projecting upwardly from the case E between the brace-barsff; H, a small cylindrical case arranged in front of the large case and connected therewith by a short neck It, and 'i peripheral ribs arranged on the large case lengthwise of its axle.
