Be itknown that I, SYDNEYSTARKEY, a citizen of the United States, residing at EastLiverpool, in the county of Columbiana and State of Ohio, have invented and produced a new and original Design for J ugs; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, form ing a part of this specification.
This invention relates to designs for jugs; and it consists of the essential features as hereinafter more fully set forth.
.The accompanying drawing represents a perspective view of a jug embodying the design.
The sides A and .B of the holloT body are parallel with each other and the edges a b arranged in planes at right angles to the planes of the said sides and tapered from ahorizontal line a short distance below the top to the bottom c. The top portion C is made somewhat narrower than the portion below it, and its edges d e are tapered from the top downward and inward to the shoulders f g, thc latter extending outwardly and downwardly to unite with the edges a, l).
The shape of the device as thus far described `is o ld and of the form of the wellknown keystone.
The essential features of the design reside in a handle f', which curves outwardly and downwardly from the upper portion of one edge e of the top C and meets an inclined straight-portionf2, merging into the outer termination of the s'houlderg. Also projecting vertically from the end of the upper edge of the top C, opposite to that to which the handle is connected, is a circular hollowr neck 71., having a iiaring top iiangc i. The part of the neck below the flange is curved regularly and merges into the adjacent part of the top C.
