UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
ARTHUR F. UPHAM, OF CHICAGO, ILLINOIS, ASSIGNOR T0 SPRAGUE, WARNER & COMPANY, OF CHICAGO, ILLINOIS, A CORPORATION.
DESIGN FOR A BOTTLE.
Specification for Design.
Patented Apr. 25, 1916.
To all whom it may concern Be it known that I, ARTHUR F. UPHAM, a citizen of the United States, residing at Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented a new, original, and ornamental Design for Bottles, as shown in the accompanying drawing and described in the following specification.
In the drawings: Figure 1 is a view of the improved bottle in side elevation. Fig. 2 is a top plan view of the bottle.
As shown in the drawings, the body of the bottle is multi-angular, having a plurality of plane panels 10 extending up to the shoulder of the bottle. From the shoulder up the neck is tapering on curved lines, and is provided immediately above the panels 10 with panels 11 set in staggered relation to the panels 10, forming downwardly projecting points 12 and upwardly projecting points 13. A depressed tapered band 14 is provided with panels 15 forming a continuation of the plane surfaces 11. Upon opposite sides of the band 14 the ribs or corners 16 are chamfered as indicated at 17. At its upper end the neck merges into a substantially cylindrical portion 18, having a rib 19 intermediate the length of the cylindrical portion and defined at its upper end by a similar rib 20. Above the rib 20 the neck is tapered as indicated at 21, terminating in a seal-receiving lip 22. The upper end of the corners or ribs 16 are also chamfered at 23 where the multi-angular portion of the neck merges into the cylindrical portion 18.
I claim:
The ornamental design for a bottle as shown and described.
