I, Jnucnlois UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
JAMES \V. PACKARD AND HENRY \V. \VISlVELL, OF \VARREN, OHIO.
DESIGN FOR A TRANSFORM ER-CASING.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 28,997, dated July 5, 1898. Application filed May 20, 1898- Serial No. 681,259. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom, it may cancer/L.-
Be it known that we, JAMES \V. PACKARD and HENRY W. WIsWELL, citizens of the United States, residing at \Varren, in the county of Trumbull and State of Ohio, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Transformer-Cases, of which the following is a specification.
Referring to the accompanying drawings, Figure 1 is a perspective view of the case, showing the rear and one end in elevation to illustrate the design. Fig. 2 is a front elevation, and Fig. 3 is a plan view in outline.
As shown in the drawings, the leading or material features of our design consist in the shape of the body and cover which constitute the casing. In sectional outline the body 1 is rectangular, with rounded corners 2. Near the lower end the casing is offset inwardly at 3, below which is a reduced portion 4, also rectangular in sectional outline and having rounded corners. At the lower edge the sides and ends are recessed at 5. On the rear side, below the center, are hook-shaped projecting portions 6, the recesses 7 within the hooks bein g rectangular. Near the top there is a wide band 8, having curved recesses 9 in its ends and hookshaped projections 10 extending outward from the recesses. The band is deeper at the corners 11 than at the sides and ends. On the rear of the band are two hook-shaped projections 12. Above the band 8 is a narrow band 13, from which the surface inclines upwardly to a panel 1.4: in the center of the top. On the ends of the inclined portion 15 are shelf-like projections 16, rounded at their outer ends and merging with the inclined surface 15 at their inner ends.
Vhat we claim is- The design for a transformer-casing substantially as shown and described.
In testimony whereof we aflix our signatures in presence of two witnesses.
JAMES \V. PACKARD. HENRY W. WISXVELL.
