Design Aro. 2,861, dated January 28, 1868.
DESIGN PoR A softer-PIN.
TO ALL WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:
Be itknown that we, CHARLES A. FLESCHE and JouN PEReENTE, of New Haven, in the county of New Haven, and State of Connecticut, have invented a new Design for a ScarflPin; and we do hereby declare the following, when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings, and the letters of reference marked thereon, to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, and which said drawings constitute part of thisv specification, and represent, in-
Figure 1, a perspective view, and in Figure 2 a side view.
This invention relates to a design for a scarf-pin formed from ivory or similar material, and consists in the peculiar configuration of the finished pin, which represents a square-knot centre, with a loop upon each side, and a pointed end equidistant upon each side, forming the base for the bow.
In order to the clear understanding of our invention, we will describe the same as illustrated in the accompanying drawings` From a. solid piece of ivory or like material, by machinery adapted for the purpose, we form a square centre, A, with a projection, B, from each side, representing a loop of eq'ual length, and back of that a projecting end, C, equidistant at each end, the centre or knot A apparently surrounding the whole, and the whole curved as seen in fig. 2, and upon the concave side we fix a. pin, D, by which to attach to the scarf.
Having thus fullyl described our invention, what we claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The design for a scarf-pin, as herein fully described, and represented in the drawings. i
CHARLES A. FLESCHE, JOHN PERPENTE. Witnesses: i
