DESIGN FOR A FOOTSTOOL.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 27,647, dated September 14, 1897. Application filed April 15, 1897. Serial No. 632,322. Term of patent 7 years.

To all whom, it may concern:

Be it known that I, SANDFORD II. SHoUP, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of Dayton, in the county of Montgomery and State of Ohio, have invented a new and original Design for a Stool and Leg, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the aeeompanyin g drawings, showing said leg and the manner of its attachment to the stool.

Figure 1 is an elevation of a footstool made in accordance with my design. Fig. 2 is a plan view thereof.

The leading feature of my design consists in a round stool having inwardly-curved legs, the lower extremities of which extend inwardly and terminate in vertical planes.

A designates the cushion or top of the stool. A is an ornamental band inclosing the lower edge of said cushion.

The base of the stool is provided with an ornamental grooved outer edge A", below which is a series of round knobs or balls A.

A" designates the legs of said stool, which project outwardly from ihe point of their attachment with the base of the stool and extend downwardly in an outwardly-bulged or rounded form with their lower ends terminating in inner vertical planes A The extreme vertical ends of said legs are capped with ornamentations B, substantially as shown.

Having described my invention, I elain The design for a footstool substantially as herein shown and described.
