DESlGN FOR A BASE FOR CHAIRS.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 25,523, dated May 19, 1896.
Application filed April 15, 1896- Serial No. 587,727. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, ARTHUR W. BROWNE,
a citizen of the Unit-ed States, residing at lrinces Bay, in the county of Richmond and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Bases for Chairs; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appcrtains to make and use the same.
The leading feature of my design consists in a hollow pedestal with rounded corners and approximating rectangular form in horizontal section, with two pairs of curved legs, the one pair diverging from the front and the other pair from the roar of the hollow pedestal, as shown in the accompanying drawings, in which-- Figure 1 is a plan view, and Fig. 2 a view in perspective.
Ais the hollow pedestal, which, except that it is rounded at the corners o is rectangular i n horizontal section. The pair of front legs B B curve downwardly upon their upper surfaces from the pedestal and diverge on curved lines, and the pair of rear legs C Calsocurve downwardly upon their upper surfaces from the pedestal and diverge on curved lines.
I claim as my invention The design for a chair-base, substantially as shown and described.
