Beit known that I, VILLIAM F. In the views, Figure lis a plan View of the tool, showing my design. Fig. 2 is a side ele- Fig. 3 shows a View of one end, and Fig. 4 is a View of the other end.
In general design the tool is of T shape with cylindrical body l and cross-piece 2. The eX- treinities of the cross-piece are one rectangular at 3 and the other transversely wedge-shaped at 4. A V- shaped notch 5 is cut in this extremity. The extremity of the body portion l opposite to the cross-piece is broadened and flattened at 6, continuing the outline of the body portion in the edge View, but considerably broader in the plan view, Where its edges are united with the body portion by inwardlycurved lines 7. Centrally in the plan view is seen a stirrup-shaped opening 8, cutting the at portion transversely, and in Fig. t is seen an opening 9 through the body of the flat portion, which extends into the stirrup-shaped opening. This opening 9 is provided with parallel sides l0, connected at either extremity of the opening by selnicireular arcs, and the opening is elongated, the length being twice the width. Y
