ISAAC WANTLING, OF 'PEORIA, ILLINOIS.
DESIGN FOR AN ANCHOR FOR DRILLING-MACHINES.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 35,032, dated September 3, 1901.
Application filed August 8, 1901. Serial No. 71,359. Term of patent '7 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, ISAAC WANTLING, a citizen of the United States, residing at Peoria, in the county of Peoria and State of Illinois, have invented a certain new and original Design for Anchors for Drilling-Machines; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, which will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
Figure 1 is a perspective View of an anchor, showing, my design. Fig. 2 is a vertical longitudinal section. Fig. 3 is a plan view, and Fig. 4 is a sectional end View.
As shown in the drawings, the leading 0"r material features of my design consist of an anchor for drilling-machines having a flattened wedge or tapered portion 1, rectangular in shape, and the reduced rounded rear extension 2) and the polygon-shaped extended portion 3, the same being slightly longer than the portion 2 and lies in a plane parallel with and above the same and tapers off and forms a part of the wedge portion 1.
5 and 6 are substantially semicircular notches or grooves cut in the matching faces of the extensions 2 and 3 and together form parts of a complete circular perforation.
4- is a loop or ring integral with the body of the anchor and is located on the taperedoif portion between the main body of the wedge and the rounded extension 2.
