DESIGN.
S. T. PREAS.
WRENCH.
No. 28,270. Patented Peb.8,1898.
WITNESSES: INVENTOR 3mm mm WQZZM/ ATTORNEY-I UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
SAMUEL T. FREAS, OF TREN"ON, \'E\\- JERSEY, ASSIGNORv TO THE AMERICAN SAXV COMPANY, OF SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR A WRENCH.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 28,270, dated February 8, 1898.
Application filed October 27, 1897. Serial No. 656,588. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whont it may concern.-
Be it known that I, SAMUEL T. FREAS, a citizen of the United States, residing at Tren ton, in the county of Mercerand State of New Jersey, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Wrenches; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
The single feature of drawing represents a plan view of my new design for a wrench.
My newly-designed wrench is of an elongated form, as shown in the drawing. At one end is a triangularly-shaped indentation or notch shape A, one inner edge of which is represented as having teeth or serrations, as CL. The outer edge of the design on each side of the triangular notch A is curved convexly or ovally at b 1) until said two edges reach the rounding points B B, Where they merge into the parallel edges 0 C of the handle, said parallel edges being straight and equidistant from each other, the width of the handle between them being narrow, while said handle has considerable length in a longitudinal direction. The end D of the design opposite to the notch shape A is rounding to form a neat connection between the lateral edges C C.
The central longitudinal face of the handle of the wrench appears with a curved concave depression E running lengthwise along said longitudinal face and having rounded ends 6 c. A circular figure F is shown at the outer on d of this lengthwise concaved line E. Around the edges of the triangular notch A is a raised flat smooth line G, the part-s of the wrench at b 1), 13 ll, and O 0 being depressed below the raised line G and also appearing dark or black, so as to contrast effectively with border G.
The essential feature of the design coniprises the unitary article made the subject of the illustration.
I claim The design for a wrench, substantially as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
SAMUEL T. FREAS.
