to receive bolts C Nuts D work on the threaded ends of the bolts beyond the holder and move against the jaw b. The inner surface of the jaw b has an inset e corresponding to the projection a on the cuts, and the inner surface of the jaw b has a projection e corresponding to the nut a on the cuts. In practice the cuts are assembled together between the projections or jaws I) b, so that the projections and insets of contiguous cuts lie within each other and the projection on the outer cut rests within the inset on one jaw and the projection on the other jaw rests within an inset on the outer surface of the cut at the other end. With this construc tion not only do I avoid the present cumbersome form of cuts with their long shanks, but I have cuts which are readily inserted in the holder, lnesh together, may be readily locked in the holder, and readily removed. Moreover, the out has but little superfluous metal, can be cheaply made, and may be discarded at negligible cost.
Having now fully described myinvention, what I claim, and desire to protect by Letters Patent, is
A bush-holder comprising a body, projecting jaws, the body portion at one projecting jaw being cut longitudinally, forming a movable jaw, a bolt passing through said movable jaw and into the body portion.
In testimony of which invention I have hereunto set my hand, at Philadelphia, on this 7th day of September, 1904.

Be it known that I, WILBER I-I. VAN SIOKEL,
a citizen of the United States, residing at Philadelphia, county of Philadelphia, and State of Pennsylvania, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Bush-Tools, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact j description, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, which form a part of this specification.
My invention relates to certain improvements in bush-tools whereby the cuts may 1 be readily secured and removed from the holder and also to provide cuts having substantially no shanks and consisting practically of the cutting-surface only and which cuts are so constructed as to enable them to be readily inserted, sleeved, and locked in the holder.
I will first describe the embodiment of my invention illustrated in the accompanying drawings and then point out the invention in the claim.
In the drawings, tion of my invention. vation.
The cuts comprise the cutting edge or sur body portion A. In the bodyportion, on one edge, is the projection a and on the opposite edge a corresponding inset a The holder comprises the shank B, the body portion B having a cut-away portion at its outer end, forming the projecting jaws b b at opposite sides. The body has also the longitudinal cut b causing the jaw to have a spring or yielding action. There are also orifices C extending through the portion carrying the jaw 11 and into the main body portion B.
