SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 25,630, dated June 9, 1896.

Be it known that I, FREDRlc M. PARKER, a citizen of the United States, residing at \Vorcester, ill tlle county of \\'oleester and State of illassacllusetts, have invented and produced a new' and original Design for Carpets, of which tlle following is a specification.
My invention relates to a design to be worked illto or upoll carpeting or similar fabries; and l do llel'eby declare tllat tlle drawing accompanying tll is specification gives and conveys to anyone skilled in the art of carpetweavillg a clear understanding of the salue that is suliieient to ellable suell persons to use nly invention.
The said drawing is a face view of a carpet elllbodyingr nl v new desigll. 'l`lle drawing illustrates a body and a bordel'.
The body A consists of a substantially unifornl groundwork upon which appeal' dis connected floral figures or conventionalized cllrysantllelnulus. 'lllesc floral figures are arranged in an apparently careless lnanller, eaell having :l .sllort .stein witll :l few leaves at ta clled 'llle border ll consists ol' a groundwork of the sanle character as tlle body A. Upon this appear floral figures similar to tllose ill tlle body, but arrallged as if growing from a flowing leafy stem or ville. The inner edge is defined by a series of small ornalllental fl gures in adotted effect. l`lle outer edge is ornamented by a series of larger figures also in a dotted effect-figures of a general circular shape alternating with lollg narrow figures. 'llle extreme outer edge is left perfectly plain.
The colors employed for tllc different portions of this design nlay be varied to suit tlle convenience or taste of ille lnallufaeturer.
