DESIGN FOR A BASE FOR LAMPS.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 25,145, dated February 11, 1896.
Application filed December 21, 1895. Serial No. 572,958. Term of patent 3 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, LOUIS IIORNBERGER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Bridgeport, Fairfield county, Connecticut, have invented a new Design for Bases for Lamps and the Like, of which the following is a specification.
The accompanying drawings represent my base, Figure 1 in perspective, and on a smaller scale, Fig. 2, in top plan View.
The invention relates to a design for a base for lamps and other articles; and the design consists in the configuration and ornamentation thereof, as shown in the illustrations.
The base consists of a low convex conical body with fonrprojecting feet. Two of these feet, oppositely placed, project radially and are bilaterally symmetrical. These are ornamented with raised scrolls and a raised middle rib passing up into the body of the base.
The other oppositely-placed feet are consid erably curved from a radial line, are symmetrical, and ornamented with scrolls. The alternate quadrants of the body are dissimilar, the opposite ones being similar. The bod yis of open-work ornamented with medallions, raised ribs and flowers in relief.
The leading feature of my design is the dissimilar alternate feet and open-work quadrant of the body ornamented with medallions, ribs, scrolls, and flowers.
WVhat I claim as my invention, and desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States, is as follows:
The design for a base for lamps, as herein shown and described.
