DESIGN FOR A COVERED DISH.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 29,123, dated August 2, 1898.

Application filed February 9, 189B. Berial No. 669,725. Term of patent '7 years.

To all whom it may concern.-

Be it known that I, CHARLES J. AHREN- FELDT, a citizen of the United States, residing at the city of New York, in the county and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and originai Design fora Covered Dish, of which the following isa specification.

My design consists of a. covered dish having the shape and ornamentation hereinafter shown and described, reference being had herein to the accompanying drawings, forming a part hereof, in which like letters of reference refer to like parts in each figure.

Figure 1 is a side view of a covered dish embodying my design. Fig. 2 is a top view of the same. Fig. 3 is a vertical cross-section of the same, taken on the lines 3 3 of Fig. 2. Fig. 4 is a bottom view of the same.

The body of the dish A and cover A are multifoil in form, having a series of indentations B in the base of the dish and B in the lid, leading to lines of depression B, extending up the sides of the dish and radially from the indentations B in the periphery of the cover or lid toward the center thereof and merging in the surface of the said cover at or near the said center. The body of the dish is provided with a circumferential ornamentation consisting of a band of latticed work 0, the lines of which are provided with small circles c at the points of intersection, bordered on either side by a series of parallel scrolls D with volnte terminals (1 and tin-like projections d on the inner side near the said terminals, and di rectly above each upper bordering scroll a cruciate leaf ornament E with two foliate ornaments P on either side and a scroll E having volute terminals. The handles of the dish I are provided with latticcdwork ornamentation F around their outer sides similar to the ornamentation on the body of the dish, bordered by scrolls F with volute terminals. The cover of the dish is provided, between the periphery and the center thereof and extending around the said center and parallel to the said periphery, with an ornamentation II in all respects similar to the circumferential ornamentation upon the body of the dish. \Vithin this ornamentation and at the points where the handles of the cover are joined to the same small tendril-like scrolls G are located, two proceeding from each terminal of the handle and extending outwardly toward the band of ornamentation II. The handle I of the cover is quatrefoil in form, being bordered on either side by scroll-like ornameniations I with volute terminals.

What I claim is- The design for a covered dish herein shown and described.
