UNITED STATES .l 0 ll N T.
PATENT OFFICE.
M. O O it it, 0 1" N E \V Y O R h, N. Y.
To (LZZ whom it may concern ilie it known that 1, JOHN T. MOORE, a eitizen of the United States, residing at New ork, in the county and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Skirt-Retainers, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact specification.
The drawing represents a plan view of my design for a skirt-retainer.
The design consists of a main body Ahaving at its rear edge a straight unbroken edge terminating in rounded extremities. Along the opposite edge are a series of projecting hooks b bent back upon and parallel with the main body. The extremities of the hooks are eonvexly curved, while the edge of the main body between the books is eoneavely curved, forming a series of pleasing ornamented eontrasted alternating convex and concave edge curves springing, the one from the other, at a point substantially parallel with the opposite straight edge. The rounded extremities merge into compound curves where they join the edges of the outermost hooks at either side, serving to add to and round out this or namental scalloped effect along the extremities of the hooks and the intervening edges of the body. The bend or curve of the hooks is parallel, in plan View, with the straight edge of the main body, thus heightening the contrasted scalloped appearance along the hook extremities.
I claim- The design for a skirt-retainer, substantially as shown and described.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing I have hereunto set my hand this 1st day of May, 1895.
JOHN T. MOORE.
