JAMES MACPIIAIL, OF \VES'l IULLMAN, ASSIGNOR 'lO 'llll l PLANO MANU- FACTURING COMPANY, OF (TIIICAGO, ILLINOIS.
DESlGN FOR A LEVER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 24,440, dated June 25, 1895.
Application tiled December 18,1894. Serial 110.532.262. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, JAMES MACPllAlL, a citizen of the United States, residing at West Pullman, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a L0\8l,0f which the following is a specification, reference being bad to theaccompanyingdrawings, in which Figure 1 represents a. side elevation of a lever, showing my design; Fig. 2, a plan view of the same, and Fig. 3 a side elevation at the same reverse from Fig. l.
The design consists in the peculiar shape of the lever and its several parts.
The lever is constructed Willi a. tnbularcew tral body, A., from which an arm, 8., projects on one side, beingarranged atone end of this lube, bent slightly at its extremity and provided with an aperture, b. On the opposite side of the tubular body A. there is also a projection, C.,located on the end of the tubular body A.,opposite to the arm B. and extending outward in the opposite direction and also downward. At the upper edge of this projection 0. there is a short projection or log, 0., having a straight face next the tubular body and curved at the other edge, as seen in Fig. 1. At the same end of the tubular body as the projection C. there is also a circular flange, b'., extending outward and somewhat smaller than the body. The projection C. cxtends outward from the body and at the same time is inclined downward. At its lower edge, about in line with the log 0., this extension C. is made with a short tube, c'., arranged transversely of the extension 0. and extend- Eng out somewhat on each side of the latter. Beyond this tube 0'. the projection C. is extended and branched, one of the branches, 0 extending directly outward a little'distance from the edgeof C. and in the same plane therewith, and thou bends at nearly a right angle and extends outward with reference to the end of the tubular body on which C. is arranged. Below this branch there is another extension, c, which passes downward and outward from the former and terminates in an outward and upward bend or turn, forming a. short, bent extremity, c. The branch 0 is constructed with an aperture, c., passing directly through it.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for a lever, substantially as shown and described.
