[Term of patent 3% years] To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, \VM. It. MOGOMAS, of Oakley, Hamilton county, Ohio, have invented a new and useful Design for a Coffin-Handle, of which the following is a specification:
The invention as represented in the accom panying drawing I describe as follows, viz: It consists of a design for the parts of a bracket or knuckle-joint coffin-handle, of which the said drawing represents one of the halves, the remaining half being of the same design.
A represents the car which is attached to the eotfin. The car A has a leaf-shaped top, a general shield-like efl'ect, in the outline a characteristic scroll and dotted ornamentation, with fan-like design on upper point, rosettes, with pearl-like centers, at sides. The leafshaped top is continued in raised lineal ornamentation around the edge into a scroll with peculiar effect, forming the remainder of the The arm B 1) consists of a peculiar triangular design with base below, a section of a ribbed globe forming part of joint at top. Extending from this a spear-shaped ornament in raised lineal and dotted work extends toward the base, and is supplemented by a fan-like decoration extending and projecting beyond the said base of triangle. The remaining space at the sides of the spear and fan-shaped ornamentation thus described is filled by a characteristic arrangement of scroll on each side of end of spear and fan, scroll-shaped ribs clasping the bar D on the side, and along the shaft of the spear a bee-wing style of ornamentation in raised or sunken lines.
What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
l. The design of the ear or lug of a coflinhandle, as shown and described.
2. The design of the arm B b, as shown and described.
