DESiGN FOR A LINK FOR DRYING-CHAINS OF ENVELOPE-MACHINES.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 16,999, dated November 2 31886,

To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, WALTER E. PREBLE, of the city, county, and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Links of Drying-Chains of Envelope-Machines, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming a part thereof.
The drawing represents a view in perspective of a link of drying mechanism in envelopeinachines embodying my new and original design.
This design embraces new and distinct coir fignrations of the side portions of the link, as hereinafter described, and pointed out, in the claims.
A distinguishing feature of this design is the configuration of the portions marked A A,as seen from their side, the same heingofa straight'ontline configuration on their one sun face, b, and of a straight-outline configuration parallel with the surface b on their opposite surface, (7, fora part, e, of the length thereof, commencing with the outer ends, 0, of said portions A A, and of a tapering'nutline configuration inclining inwardiy toward the surface I) for the greater part of the remainder of the length, asatf. Furthermore, the portions A A are of a special configuration in transverse section through their surfaces 0 and 11 within or throughout the length of the straight and tapering outlines a and f, the same showing a web and flange or T-shapcd figure, as shown at c. The inner or lower end portions of the link and the intermediate part between the portions A A may hoof ant suitable configuration.
I claim 1. The herein-described design for links of drying-chai ns ot'envelope machines, consisting of a link having a straight-outiine configuration on one surface, I), of the portions A A and a partly straight and tnperingontiine configution, of, on the opposite surface, (I, as shown.
2. The herein-descril'ied design for links of drying-chainsoi'cnvclopemachincsconsisting of a link having its portions A A Tshaped, one surface, I of which is of a straightoutline configuration, and its opposite surface, (I, of a partly straight and tapering outline contiguration, of, as shown.
