PULVERIZING FIELD-ROLLER.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Application filed May 18, 1910.
Patented Nov. 5, 1912.
Serial No. 562,103.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, CHRIs'rEN LEE, residing at Lebanon, in thecounty of Linn and State of Oregon, a citizen of the United States, have invented a new and useful Pulverizing Field-Roller, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to new and useful improvements in field rollers and comprises various features of construction and combinations and arrangements of parts which will be hereinafter fully described, shown in the accompanying drawings and then specifically defined in the appended claim.
I illustrate my invention in the accompanying drawings, in which Figure 1 is a top plan View of my field roller, and Fig. 2 is a sectional view on line 22 of Fig. 1.
Reference now being had to the details of the drawings by numerals, 1 designates the frame of the apparatus which may be of any desirable shape, preferably rectangular, and has a diagonally disposed beam intermediate two of the opposite sides, the ends of which diagonally disposed beam are braced by the pieces 5. Intermediate the said diagonally disposed brace and two of the sides are the cross beams 2 in which the spindles at the inner ends of the conicalshaped rollers 3 and L respectively have bearings, while their outer ends have bearings in the end pieces of the frame, as shown.
It will be noted upon reference to Fig. 2 of the drawings that the bearings to the inner ends of the conical-shaped rollers are positioned below the cross-pieces 2, while the bearings for the outer ends of the rollers are above the end pieces of the frame. By this construction, the portions of the rollers which bear upon the ground are in the same plane.
What I claim to be new is A field roller comprising a frame with a diagonally disposed beam intermediate two of the sides, cross-pieces parallel with the ends of the frame to which the diagonally disposed piece is fastened, bearings upon the under side of said parallel pieces and bear ings upon the upper side of the opposite end of the frame, and transverselyarranged, conical-shaped rollers having spindle ends engaging said bearings, as shown and de scribed.
