To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that l, HENRY BERRY, a citizen of the United States, residing at Shelton, in the county of Fairfield and State of (Jonnecticut, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Back for Mirrors, Brushes, and other Articles, of which the following is a specification, reference being bad to the accompanying drawing, forming part thereof, and showing a face view of a mirror or brush back bearing my design.
The leading features of my design consist in the shape of the back and the surface ornamentation thereon, as represented in the drawing.
In the drawing A designates the mirror or brush back having at one end a handle B. The back A is substantially rectangular in outlinebuthas its corners, upper end and sides gracefully curved, as shown, while the lower end of the back by harmonious curves merges into the handle B, whose opposite edges curve downward and outward from each other and then turn inward and meet at the lower end of the handle. At the upper end of the back A is the conventionalized foliate scroll C supplcmented at its sides by the floral sprays D, and at the opposite edges of the back and below the foliate scroll C are the conventionalized foliate border scrolls E, F, which extend downward to the handle B and inelose between their lower portions the foliate scroll G, which occupies the lower field of the back A. The central field of the back A bears the combined floral and foliate ornamental figure II. The handle B bears upon its upper end the foliate and floral figure I and upon its lower end the foliate and floral figure J, as illustrated.
Vvhat I claim, is:
The design for a back for mirrors, brushes and other articles, substantially as shown and described.
