UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
THEODORE \V'. FOSTER, Ol PROVIDENCE, RllODE ISLAND.
DESIGN FOR A METAL BRUSH-BACK, (Sec.
SPECIFICATIQN forming part of Design No. 26,274, dated November 17, 1896.
Application filed October 9, 1896. Serial No. 608,416. Term of patent 3% years.
Be it known that I, THEODORE W. FOSTER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Providence, in the county of Providence and State of Rhode Island, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Metal Covers for Brushes, Mirrors, and other Toilet Articles, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part thereof.
Figure 1- is a top View of a metal cover adapted to cover the back of a brush, a mirror, or form the cover of a toilet-box, showing my design. Fig. 2 is a transverse section of the same.
The leading feature of my design consists in the raised foliated border, the leaves of which extend from the margin of the cover inward, the curved beads Within the border and the pyramidical graduated beads extending from the border toward the center into the central panel.
In the drawings, margin of the cover.
13 indicates the central panel.
The leaves (.7, cl in the design extend from A indicates the convex four distinct points C (J G C on the margin of the cover and curve inward, terminating in foliated scrolls. The graduated beads eeeix tend between the leaves from the margin of the cover toward the center panel. Four dis tinct groups are thus formed. The leaves and graduated beads of each extend from the margin of the cover and curve inward to form the foliated margin of the central panel. From the scrolled leaves of the two opposite groups of these foliations extend the pyrainidical graduated beads f f across a part of the central panel, pointing toward a common point.
Having thus described my newly-produced design, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent- The design for the metal cover herein shown and described.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand.
THEODORE V. FOSTER.
