DESIGN FOR A SPOON OR FORK.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 27,253, dated June 29, 1897'.
Application filed April 5, 1897. Serial No. 630,862. Term of patent '7 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, GEORGE W. SHIEBLER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Brooklyn, in the county of Kings and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Spoon or Fork, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part thereof, in which- Figure 1 is an elevation of the obverse side with the fork-tines in dotted lines, showing my new design; and Fig. 2 is an elevation of the reverse side.
The leading or material feature of my design consists of the ornamental configuration of a rose at the end of the handle, with the face thereof on one side and the back on the other side of the handle in relief. The end of the handle conforms to the outline of the rose-petals and the outlines of the edges of the handle are curved or undulating.
The designs in relief upon the obverse side of the handle, as shown, comprise the roseface a and leaflet ornaments at the end of the handle, the rose 1) and leaflet ornaments intermediate of the handle, the scroll ornaments c 0, adjacent to the end of the handle, and the rose and leaflet ornaments at d along the narrow portion of the handle.
The designs in relief upon the reverse side of the handle, as shown, comprise the roseback a, directly behind the rose-face a, and the leaflet ornaments and scroll ornaments e e at the end of the handle, the scroll and leaflet ornaments fintermediate of the handle, and the rose 9 and leaflet ornaments at the base of the handle.
WVhat I claim is-- 1. The design for a spoon or fork substan tially as shown and described.
2. In the design for a spoon or fork, the design of the obverse, substantially as shown and described.
3. In the design for a spoon or fork, the design of the reverse, substantially as shown and described.
