DESIGN FOR A COOKING-STOVE.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 21,897, dated October 11, 1892.

Applica ion filed August 29,1892. Serial No. 444,455. Term of patent 7 years.

To all whom it may concern.-

Be it known that we, HENRY CLAY BASCOM, residing in the village of Lansingburg, and FRANCIS RITCHIE, residingin the cityof 'lroy, in the county of Rensselaer and State of New York, citizens of the United States, have jointly invented and produced a new and original Design for Cooking Stoves or Ranges, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing of a cooking stove or range having our said new design.

One characteristic feature of our said design consists of fluted volutes, either single or connected or united in right and left pairs and having foliate scroll-branch or scroll-leaf extensions, shaped and disposed on a side of a cooking stove or range, essentially as represented in the aforesaid drawing.

Another characteristic feature of this design is the stove-base haviugon itssides pairs of right and left fluted volutes, as a a, with right and left foliate scroll-branch extensions, as b b, and on the corners clusters of right and left scroll-leaves, as c, all shaped and disposed essentially as shown in said drawing.

A further characteristic feature of this design is the oven-door having thereon single fluted volutes,as aiextending from the hinges, with a foliate scroll branch b or scroll-leaves b reaching forward, and a foliate scroll branch, as d, at the handle, all shaped essentially as shown.

Another characteristic feature of this design is the warming-closet front having there- 3 5 on centrally and vertically arranged right and left pairs of fluted volutes, as a a, and right and left foliate scroll branches, as b" If. extending laterally from said fluted voiutes.

A further characteristic feature of our design is the warming-closet support having the ornamental base portion,thevolute-ornamented central part, and the lateral brackets ornamented by fluted volutes, foliate scroll branches, and scroll-leaves, all so as to appear 4 5 essentially as represented in said drawing.

We claim as our invention- 1. The design for a cooking stove or range, substantially as herein described and shown.

2. In the design for a cooking-stove, the stove-base, as shown and described.

3. In the design for a cooking-stove, the oven-door, as described and shown.

4. In the design for a cooking-stove, the warming-closet, as shown and described.

5. In the design for a cooking-stove, the warming-closet support, as described and shown.
